Welcome to THE DARK ROOM – the legendary interactive comedy show that fuses improv, crowd work and gaming to create an insane live-action videogame!
Come watch, and if you want – play – the choose-your-own-adventure madness!
The crowd is trapped inside an inescapable dungeon with a sadistic videogame boss! Pick increasingly surreal options off the screen and try to escape!
If you win – you get money!
If you fail – YA DIE! YA DIE! YA DIE!
Now, will you:
Find the Light Switch
Go North?
Abandon Hope?
Be sworn at by a man wearing spiked armour and a lot of leather?
(This option is permanently set to “On”)
Now its 13th year, this high-octane interactive show is the brainchild of comedian & cult leader John Robertson. Filled with stand-up, appalling prizes and more audience chanting than you’d get at a protest – The Dark Room is a gut-busting rock n’ roll comedy experience for everyone who buys a ticket.
Permanently on tour The Dark Room has headlined stages at Glastonbury, PAX, Download Festival, MCM Comic Con, Utrecht International Comedy Festival 2000 Trees, UK Games Expo and Bluedot Festival, and sold out at Edinburgh Fringe, Soho Theatre and hundreds of theatres around the world.
Oh, and videos of The Dark Room roasting videogames and swearing at children keep popping up on people’s social media, which is nice.
Parking We recommend using the Q Park on Durham Road S10 2JA, which is located just over the road from Foundry. Paid parking is available from 6pm to 2am.
At Foundry, we believe in equal opportunities and are committed to being inclusive and making the venue accessible to all. Foundry is within Sheffield Students Union and is alongside two smaller venues, Studio and Fusion. Foundry follows Attitude is Everything guidelines to improve deaf and disabled people's access to live music, by working in partnership with audiences, artists and the music industry. Access to viewing platform Towards the back of Foundry there is a raised area, accessed via a ramp. At our live gigs we build a disabled viewing area here which can accommodate up to eight people at once and can be booked by completing the Access Requirement Form. We can accommodate both wheelchairs and chairs. The Foundry viewing area is 41m from the nearest accessible toilet in Foundry. Unfortunately this is not available at all events in Foundry, including club nights. For Studio gigs we build a small viewing platform with limited availability. Studio and Fusion are level access throughout. The Studio viewing area is 29m, from the nearest accessible toilet in Fusion. We advise to request a space on the viewing platform in advance of a show as space is limited. If the viewing platform requests are full we will add you to a waiting list in case a space comes available.
